Massive multinational corporations are feeding you food that isn’t really food
These days, it seems the general public has accepted that GMO foods are a part of their regular diet, something which was a bit of a taboo when they were first introduced. Nobody bats an eye anymore, which is why these multinational corporations, like Monsanto, are flooding the shelves with these GMO foods.
It appears that our generation is more than happy to put food inside our bodies that is not really food; ‘food’ manufactured in a laboratory and introduced to the public as if it came from the ground naturally.
GMO foods have been shown to have serious consequences on our health
GMO foods have been linked to various health risks in multiple animal studies. The risks include issues with the immune system, infertility, accelerated aging, alterations to the gastrointestinal system and major organs and terrible regulation of insulin in the body.
Now scientists are speaking out against GMOs! And one of them is geneticist David Suzuki
Suzuki is questioning the status quo even more, not just talking about the implications that eating GMO’s have on our health. With how easily GMO’s are been added to our foods, Suzuki thinks we have all becoming unwilling participants in what he calls a huge “human experiment.”
He says that the way the food corporations are “slipping it into our food without our knowledge, without any indication that there are genetically modified organisms in our food, we are now unwittingly part of a massive experiment.”
When their GMO foods started selling like hot cakes, the food companies must have been shocked and thought that they were beneficial to people.
The FDA is no help at all!
According to Suzuki, “The FDA has said that genetically modified organisms are not much different from regular food, so they’ll be treated in the same way. The problem is this, geneticists follow the inheritance of genes, what biotechnology allows us to do is to take this organism, and move it horizontally into a totally unrelated species.”
GMOs are making us exchange genes with carrots, and this has unknown consequences
“Now David Suzuki doesn’t normally mate with a carrot and exchange genes, what biotechnology allows us to do is to switch genes from one to the other without regard to the biological constraints.”
When asked what the biggest problem he had with this, Suzuki said, “It’s very very bad science, we assume that the principles governing the inheritance of genes vertically, applies when you move genes laterally or horizontally. There’s absolutely no reason to make that conclusion.”
